At the meeting

Make sure you are comfortable in the room where you are meeting for example that the sun isn't shining in your face

Before the meeting begins, make sure you are introduced to everyone at the meeting and that you know what their role is and why they are there.  Introduce your supporter if this has not been done already

Ask for any unfamiliar words to be explained

Ask for all decisions to be repeated at the end of the meeting

You or your supporter can take notes during the meeting if you wish. If someone else is taking notes or minutes, ask if you can have a copy. This may help you to be clear who is doing what and when
